This is our newest remodel. Using an existing building, we have reconfigured it with a kitchen, dining space, living room area adjacent to a sunny screened porch and a three-bedroom cabin. We want to thank you both for your kindness and hospitality! We have loved every minute of our 2-week stay at Island Acres and gorgeous western Colorado. This is truly my Shangri-la and go home tomorrow refreshed and relaxed. It’s worth every mile to get here! Come see us in Texas Hill Country. Stay well and safe!

Island Acres was perfect for our group of ten ATV riders. We had plenty of room to park trailers, a large area to cook outside and plenty of room to set up tables. Units 3, 4 and 5 each had two bedrooms and Unit 6 had a large kitchen. Perfect. We wanted to ride north of Gunnison in the Crested Butte area three days and south at Lake City and Ouray. Island Acres was located in the center. Thank you for keeping the rooms clean for us.

Dear Island Acres,
While traveling in the USA for two weeks, we have found it difficult to find some of the amenities that we enjoy: a kettle to make our morning tea, coffee cups (it is so much nicer than heating tea in a cardboard cup,) plates, cutlery and bowls for our morning cereal, and a fridge (feeding a family of five is costly!) With a fridge, and especially with your kitchens, we could go to the supermarket and buy everything so we can eat at night and have lunch makings for the next day while we traveled around. We do enjoy eating out, just not every meal.
While we have been here, we have found your units are really nice and spacious, and well stocked. In New Zealand, we would call these units ‘self-contained’ or ‘fully contained.’ They worked really well for our needs.

Our stay at Island Acres was the piece of heaven we were searching for, from the sounds of nature to the wonderfully clean accommodations. We got a nice balance of privacy and service. Our cabin contained everything we ended up needing, and the towels and linens were 5 Star. I loved the ’50s vintage feel, and the walks right outside the door were incredible. Thank you for providing us with this experience.
